What the research covers
Tesamorelin is GHRH(1-44) with a hexenoyl modification that resists enzymatic breakdown, and it is the best-studied GHRH peptide in humans. Large controlled trials report increased pulsatile growth-hormone secretion and IGF-1, and reductions in visceral adipose tissue, with adverse effects including injection-site reactions, joint pain and changes in glucose tolerance. It is licensed in the United States (as Egrifta) for a specific indication in HIV patients and is not licensed in the UK or EU. It is the reference compound against which other GHRH peptides and secretagogues (sermorelin, CJC-1295, ipamorelin) are compared.
The wider class splits into two mechanisms. GHRH peptides such as tesamorelin, sermorelin and CJC-1295 act at the GHRH receptor; secretagogues such as ipamorelin and GHRP-6 act at the ghrelin receptor. They are studied together because they act on the same axis by different routes, and all of them are prohibited in tested sport under WADA S2.
Where Tesamorelin sits
Tesamorelin is the only compound in this category, and that is deliberate. Human growth hormone itself is a Class C controlled drug in the UK, and we do not stock it.
